When the Ford Raptor hit showroom floors in late 2009, sales far exceeded expectations. The original 5.4L V8 grew up into the standard 6.2L in 2011, making 411 horsepower and 434 lb-ft torque. While the new king of off-road was quite the crowd pleaser in its stock form, the aftermarket community wasted no time in coming out with parts and accessories to make it bigger and badder. Hennessey Performance even went as far as creating a Hennessey VelociRaptor SUV upgrade, with the option of a 6.7L Power Stroke diesel pushing 440 horsepower and 880 lb-ft torque.
As we near the end of 2016, Ford shows no intentions of slowing down. With the debut of the new 2017 Raptor with a 3.5L twin-turbo V6, those of us in the aftermarket community can’t waste any time in making products to please the new eager owners of this beast of a machine.
Enter Pedal Commander. A throttle response controller originating in Germany, we’ve been working on breaking into the United States market for the past 12 months. While most may see increased throttle response as something you would only want in sports car, we have managed to turn the heads of truck owners with the many different uses and applications of our product.
Partnering with SVC Offroad and American Muscle, our product managed to completely vanish off our shelves over a single weekend. After a quick two-minute install and a test drive around the block, reviews from Raptor owners around the country started appearing in my inbox like magic.
Brian from California sent us a message to our Instagram account, “You guys make one hell of a product! Honestly, not much impresses me these days, but [Pedal Commander] has made me want to drive my Raptor again. Thank you.”
With 4 modes and 36 sensitivity levels, having complete control over your throttle has proven to be popular across the board. Whether you use Eco mode to smooth out your acceleration for a leisurely crawl off the beaten path, or Sport mode to access every last horsepower your engine has to offer on a quick scoot to work, Pedal Commander’s wide range of possibilities has something for every platform.
